This is one of his official presidential portraits, now hanging in the National Portrait Gallery in DC. I was just struck by how human he seems. He looks not unlike a kindly and somewhat bumbling university professor that’s been dressed up in a nicer suit than he is used to wearing.

You’re right - it is a portrait at odds with all we saw on TV/newsreel footage/photos.
