Just a touch more contrast in the skin tones on that last one.

BTW, that’s my older sister Cathy in the background of the first shot. Hi Cath!

Matt, I like this one better. The hair is darker too. Is this a scan from negative, or from a print? If from a print, did you burn in the hair and face???

Bob, these are from a neg scan. I took the highlights down a bit with curves, and then put some of the highlights back with added contrast by using unsharp mask with a radius of 10 and 30% amount. For a web sized image these settings give you a bump in local contrast.

Thanks for the technicals, Matt. I thought maybe you had burnt in the highlights. I like it.

Yes, this is looking very good. That has got to be one of your best portraits of Kate, of those that I have seen. What film is this? Still HP5? Very different look than the HP5 in Ilfosol you displayed recently. Or is it the bumped up contrast that makes all this difference? Anyhow, very good use of the light.
    Greetings,
    Hannes

Hannes, this is HP5 pushed to 800 in Ilfosol S. Development time was something like 14 minutes at 68 degrees with a dilution of 1+14. It’s contrasty, and so was this light!

    Thanks for the info, Matt!
