   We are thinking about a trip to Amsterdam and Berlin sometime this fall, but nothing is firm yet.

   Me too! Well, Amsterdam anyway. I was last there when I was 19 and I’m now 47. I remember it as being a superb place for black and white pics. I’m a much better photographer now than I was then so I’m very much looking forward to it. It’s also possible that, having developed an eye for a certain type of photograph, I wont see the same things this time around. I’m hoping to go in late October but haven’t sorted a hotel out yet. They all seem to be quite expensive for what they have to offer.

   Depending on how long you plan on staying, you might look into renting an apartment. For anything more than 3 nights, supposedly this works out as more economical than a hotel. We’ve friends who’ve gone this route a couple of time with good results.
