IE6

September 28th, 2006

Wow, I just noticed how terrible this site looks on IE6. I mean, it’s really, really bad. I thought I had checked it, but I guess not. When I get a chance I’ll fix all that white crud padding those divs, but if you are viewing this site via IE, do yourself a favor, go get firefox.

There’s no good reason to use IE, and there’s plenty of reasons not to use it. OK, that’s not entirely true. Some enterprise sites that use MS products only work with IE, but that’s such a small subset of users.

Thanks to Anthony for updating the CSS.

    Matt,

I’ve just been researching a similar problem and came across:

    http://browsershots.org/

which takes screenshots of your site using different browsers. Not as good as having the browser installed on your own machine, but not bad. It has just tested 5.01, 5.5, 6.0 and 7.0 for me.

Hmm, I hadn’t seen that before, but it looks useful. I have access to machines with all the major browsers installed, I just forgot to check IE on windows. In a perfect world, I’d just have to design for one browser.
