Distorted Perspectives Pt. 2

September 19th, 2006

PTLens seems to work just dandy. It has a predefined setting for the Sigma 30 f1.4 - and a bunch of other lenses as well - which seems to correct the barell distortion quite well. And it slipped right into the batch actions I normally use. See the corrected photo below.

PT Lens rules. Both of my cameras (Fuji s5000 and Nikon D50) suffer from barrel at wide-angle, specially the 18-55 in the Nikon. Since I shoot almost exclusivbely architecture, it bothers me a lot. But using PT LEns I get perfectly distortion free pics. I combine it with Lens Correction filter in CS2 to correct perspective and I get images that look 4×5, with no converging verticals.

You have some interesting architectural work on your blog. I’ll be interested to see how well the perspective correction tool in PT Lens works. There’s some interesting architecture around here that’s just begging for a 4X5.
